VLCC joins hands with AMRI Hospital for COVID-19 Vaccination drive in Kolkata



Company’s ‘VLCC Cares’ initiative targets 1,500 of its customers in the city to be vaccinated free of cost over 16 weeks



KOLKATA, 25th June, 2021: VLCC HealthCare Ltd., one of the leading Beauty & Wellness companies, has announced a free COVID-19 vaccination drive for customers in Kolkata. This drive will be commencing on 26th June, 2021, in collaboration with AMRI Hospitals at the VLCC Wellness & Beauty Clinics at Kasba and Kankurgacchi in Kolkata. All VLCC customers from across the Company’s 10 VLCC Wellness & Beauty Clinics in the city can register themselves to book a vaccination slot and get inoculated at these Clinics free of cost.



Starting from last week of June 2021, the vaccination drive is spread over four months and will be operational during the last weekend of every month. Meanwhile, all over 200 of VLCC’s employees in Kolkata have already received at least their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.



As part of its ‘VLCC Cares’ public service initiative, the Company is extending support to its customers and employees across its 192 Wellness &Beauty Clinics in 106 cities pan-India, facilitating to get themselves vaccinated. In Kolkata, it has partnered with AMRI Hospitals, one of the region’s renowned and premier private healthcare providers, whose medical staff will be carrying out the vaccination. The age groups covered will be 18 years and above.



Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Jayant Khosla, Managing Director & Group Head, VLCC Health Care Ltd., said, “VLCC has always advocated the idea of “Health first” and taken steps to extend this to our employees and customers. With demand surging every day, we have come up with this vaccination drive in partnership with AMRI Hospital, to make customers’ and employees’ safety our utmost priority. This will not only safeguard our associates but also help us in amplifying the message to the general public about the importance of getting inoculated.”



Expressing views on the initiative, Mr. RupakBarua, Group CEO, AMRI Hospitals, said, “We are happy to have joined hands with a prominent wellness brand like VLCC. We want to vaccinate as many people as possible and we have taken a target of inoculating around two lakh people. While the Government has been vaccinating people across the state, it is a massive exercise and we all will need to pull in our resources to inoculate more number of people so that they can be safeguarded against COVID-19.”

This free of cost vaccination drive will require mandatory prior or on-spot registration via the Cowin website. To book slot appointments VLCC customers just need to call their respective VLCC Wellness Clinics.
