Road Safety Awareness Drive by Nehru Yuva Kendra Malda and NSS Unit, Malda College

Malda, January 17-23 – To spread awareness about road safety and responsible traffic behavior, Nehru Yuva Kendra Malda and the NSS Unit of Malda College jointly organized a Road Safety Awareness Drive from January 17th to 23rd. The campaign aimed to educate students and the local community on traffic rules and the importance of safe road habits.

Throughout the week, several impactful programs were conducted to engage participants actively:

Traffic Awareness Orientation Programme – Sessions on traffic rules and road safety guidelines.

Road Safety Pledge – Participants took an oath to follow traffic rules and promote road safety.

Road Safety Drawing Competition at Ramkin Kar Vidyalay – School students expressed road safety messages through creative drawings.

Awareness Posters by NSS Volunteers – Volunteers created posters to spread awareness in public spaces.

Traffic Volunteering in Local Communities – Individual volunteers assisted in maintaining traffic discipline in their local areas.

A team of 25 NSS volunteers played a key role in making this campaign successful. They worked actively in organizing events, spreading awareness, and engaging with people to emphasize the importance of road safety.

This campaign reminded everyone that road safety is not just about following rules but about protecting lives. Simple actions—like using helmets, following traffic signals, and walking on footpaths—can prevent accidents and make roads safer for all.

"Road safety starts with small steps. If we follow the rules, we not only protect ourselves but also make the roads safer for others."
