WBSSC SLST 2025 Answer Key: Expected Release Dates & Key Highlights
Kolkata, September 16, 2025 — The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) is set to release the answer key for the 2025 School Level Selection Test (SLST) this week. The key will be published in PDF format on the official website westbengalssc.com, enabling candidates to verify their responses and estimate scores.
Expected Release Dates
- Class 9 & 10 Answer Key: Likely on September 16
- Class 11 & 12 Answer Key: Expected by September 20
Candidate Turnout & Participation
- Over 2.29 lakh candidates appeared for the assistant teacher recruitment exam for classes 11 and 12.
- Attendance reached 93% of the 2.46 lakh registered candidates.
- The SLST was conducted across 478 centres, all within educational institutions.
- Notably, 13,517 candidates traveled from outside West Bengal, mainly from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Phase 1 Recap
- Held on September 7 for classes 9 and 10.
- 91% turnout from 3.19 lakh registered candidates across 636 centres.
- 31,362 candidates were from outside the state.
Official Statements
Education Minister Bratya Basu emphasized the transparency of the recruitment process, especially in light of the Supreme Court’s cancellation of the 2016 recruitment, which led to the termination of around 26,000 school staff.
“We’ve initiated a process which is fair, transparent, and takes care of the interests of deserving candidates,” Basu stated.
Candidate Sentiment
Candidates expressed cautious optimism. Chinmoy Mondal, a member of the Deserving Teachers Rights Forum, said:
“We had qualified in 2016 and lost jobs due to corruption. I hope this time the process remains fair.”
