Australia, having won the toss, opted to bat first but failed to capitalize on the decision. The innings began with promise as Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh laid a solid foundation, scoring 29 and 41 respectively. However, the middle order faltered under pressure. Matt Renshaw stood out with a composed 56 off 58 balls, while Matthew Short added 30. The rest of the lineup struggled to build partnerships, and Australia was bowled out for 236 in 46.4 overs. Shubman Gill, captaining India for the first time in ODIs, scored 24 before falling early. Despite the series loss, India’s performance in the final match highlighted the depth and experience of the squad, with Rohit Sharma earning the Player of the Match award for his stellar innings.
