A female Booth Level Officer (BLO), Shantimuni Oraon, was found hanging in her courtyard in Malbazar, Jalpaiguri. She was reportedly under severe mental stress due to the workload from the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list. Her family claims she was depressed and overwhelmed by the door-to-door form distribution duties. CM Mamata Banerjee expressed deep sorrow and demanded an immediate halt to the SIR process, citing 28 deaths linked to its pressure.
Nitish Kumar Resigns, Set to Take Oath as Bihar CM for 10th Time
Nitish Kumar formally resigned as Chief Minister of Bihar and submitted his letter to Governor Arif Mohammad Khan.
