Veteran Actor Prem Chopra Hospitalised in Mumbai, Condition Stable
Amid growing concerns over Dharmendra’s health, another wave of worry swept through Bollywood as veteran actor Prem Chopra was admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital. The 90-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital on Monday after he suddenly fell ill, prompting immediate medical attention.
Prem Chopra’s family initially stated that the hospitalisation was for a routine check-up. However, doctors later confirmed that the actor had developed a viral infection along with age-related complications. He is currently under the care of a team led by cardiologist Dr. Nitin Gokhale and pulmonologist Dr. Jalil Parker. The medical team revealed that Chopra is being treated for heart and lung-related issues, but reassured fans that his condition is stable and he is not in the ICU.
The news of his hospitalisation sparked concern across the film industry, with many expressing their prayers and support for the veteran actor. Chopra, known for his iconic roles in films like Andhaa Kaanoon and Bobby, remains under close observation in a general ward and is expected to recover within the next few days.
His son-in-law, actor Vikas Bhalla, addressed the media and clarified that the hospitalisation was precautionary due to his age, and there is no immediate cause for alarm. “It’s all age-related and a regular procedure. There is nothing to worry about,” Bhalla said, urging fans to remain calm.
Prem Chopra’s family has chosen not to disclose further details about his health at this time, requesting privacy as he undergoes treatment. The actor’s resilience and the medical team’s optimism have brought some relief to fans and colleagues alike.
