In a major strategic move, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has officially launched a wholly owned subsidiary named Reliance Intelligence Limited, marking its entry into the artificial intelligence (AI) sector. The company received its certificate of incorporation from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on September 9, 2025, as confirmed in a stock exchange filing.

Key Objectives of Reliance Intelligence:

  • Build gigawatt-scale AI-ready data centers across India, starting with Jamnagar, Gujarat
  • Power these centers with green energy, aligned with Reliance’s new energy ecosystem
  • Develop affordable and scalable AI services for sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture
  • Foster AI talent by building a strong base of researchers, engineers, and product creators
  • Form global partnerships, including with tech giants Google and Meta, to accelerate AI adoption

Strategic Vision:

Chairman Mukesh Ambani described the launch as a “landmark step” for India’s digital future. At the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in August, he emphasized that Reliance Intelligence will deliver “AI everywhere for every Indian,” echoing the success of Jio’s digital revolution.

Family Leadership:

During the AGM, Ambani’s children played key roles:

  • Akash Ambani presented plans for the telecom sector
  • Isha Ambani outlined strategies for retail
  • Anant Ambani, recently appointed Executive Director, made his debut by sharing business insights, signaling a more prominent role in the company’s future

This initiative positions Reliance at the forefront of India’s AI transformation, with infrastructure designed for national-scale training and inference, and a commitment to inclusive, sustainable innovation.
